About Us

Our story began in summer of 2021 when "Buddy" was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at the age of five. Aside from a dear family member who had Type 2 diabetes, we were completely unaware of how this diagnosis would forever change his life.

After hundreds of needle jabs and finger sticks, we were introduced into the world of CGMs. While we quickly realized the miraculous role that this technology has in managing T1D, we also discovered the challenge with keeping these devices attached to skin. Everyday activities seemed to continuously cause adhesion issues.

With an unwavering desire to have Buddy define his disease and not the alternative, we looked for ways to bring his uniqueness to diabetes management, all while addressing the underlying CGM adhesion challenges. An existing family business had equipment capable of designing and manufacturing custom CGM overlay patches. With a little equipment repurposing and a lot of research, Buddy Patches was born!

Today, we are still a family-owned and operated small business with a passion to make CGMs stick!

ABOUT THE TAPE (PATCHES)

Made with industry leading material, our CGM tapes are just as much about function as they are style. Buddy Patches will not fray or tear, and have a wear time rated up to 14+ days. As with managing Buddy's disease, we have poured our heart and soul into our patches, and we can't wait to help you live your best life!
